Chantel Woodman is a Cape Town based artist and designer, with a multidisciplinary background in design, metal work and sculpture. This diverse skill set has culminated in a unique and experimental approach to ceramics. Chantel engages in a unique and inquisitive process of pushing the boundaries of her medium, discovering the tension between the visible and invisible. Each piece is unique and showcases her understanding of structural design and her intuitive and organic approach to her artistic process. These works revel in a non-uniform, unpredictable asymmetry which mimics the structural order and disorder organically embedded in nature.
Her work has been showcased in multiple galleries and design shows around the world, including Workshop Gallery in Brooklyn, Glaugair in Berlin as well as major Art Fairs in London, Miami and South Africa. She has frequently showcased work with Okha Design House, Southern Guild and 100% Design in Cape Town, South Africa.
